NH LONDONDERRY — Londonderry Recreation Commission closes skate park pending council decision on repair or demolition. The facility, roughly 25 to 26 years old, shows severe wood rot, eroded metal surfacing, and water damage from failed fasteners; repair costs range from $75,000 to $100,000, while new construction elsewhere has reached $800,000. The department has fielded approximately 80 emails about the closure, split between residents and non-residents.
A formal presentation to the Town Council is scheduled for April 20. Commission members also welcomed new member Mike Bartlett and reported that summer staffing is complete, with Summer Rec capacity reduced from 400 to 300 due to full-day kindergarten classroom reconfigurations.
