NH LONDONDERRY — Londonderry Sewer/Solid Waste Subcommittee charts 2027 strategy around waste reduction and water quality. The four-member panel unanimously retained Chair John Mahon and Secretary Joy Fraga Muller and advanced strategic planning centered on household composting education and septic maintenance outreach. The committee rejected the BetterBin App, citing the $8,050 cost plus $500 setup fee as prohibitive, and is instead developing a household composting education program with participation incentives.
Members are also updating pet waste disposal and Clean Water Act compliance materials in coordination with Londonderry High School for student graphic design involvement. The Subcommittee will seek information on a proposed Recycleworks facility and continue promoting Renewal Compost at-home food scrap pickup service.
