Town Council approves Recreation Commission expansion, temporarily cuts purchasing threshold

NH LONDONDERRY — Londonderry Town Council approves Recreation Commission expansion to seven full members and three alternates. In a 4-1 vote, the Council also temporarily reduced the municipal purchasing threshold to $15,000 pending collaborative review of the full purchasing policy, with Councilor Dan Bouchard dissenting. The Council unanimously approved a $17,593.68 withdrawal from the Police Equipment and Technology Capital Reserve Fund for portable radios for newly hired officers.
During a budget workshop, the Council and Budget Committee discussed achieving $400,000 in proposed cuts, including the potential elimination of two part-time Human Resources positions. Public comment centered on the failure to issue Veterans' Tax Credits to 86 qualified residents; Town Manager Shaun Mulholland noted that refunds for paid taxes are impossible, but abatements for 2026 may be explored with legal counsel.
